Buffing up your accountancy blog

Buffing up your accountancy blog

Helen Cox Marketing Consultant London Kent UKIt goes without saying that blogging can form a key part of any marketing strategy. Blogging is loved by Google and therefore is a great way to bring more and more clients to your website (and hopefully to your business).

The thing about accountancy blogging is that whilst it is great for ensuring that existing clients remember you and new clients find you. It can sometimes be hard to get right.

Whilst you know plenty about accountancy, you may not know everything that needs to be known about blogging. Which is why I have put together our buffing up on your accountancy blog post, which will help you to understand what you need to do.

Find the right tool for your accountancy blog

The good news about having a blog for your accountancy firm is that you don’t really need to have too much technical knowledge. There are a variety of tools out there. That you can use to help to put your blog posts together and then publish it when you are ready. Just speak to your web developer who will be able to advise on the best blogging tool for your website.

Allow comments

You may think that it is a good idea to stop your potential clients from leaving comments on a blog post; but the truth is that it can be a hugely valuable approach to take. Having a comments section gives you an avenue to ensure that your clients can communicate with you and that you, in turn, can engage with them. This opens up a dialogue, which means that you can try and get them to want to know more about your service.

Be regular

We all have grand plans about our blog and what we will post. You may have the best intentions of blogging every single day and building up a raft of content for your visitors, but this can be unrealistic. You have so many other things going on in your firm, that you should be mindful of your own time. Think about creating blogs on a regular basis rather than focusing on having a high frequency. If you think you can definitely commit to one post a week, but no more than that. This is absolutely fine, just make sure that you do keep up with those weekly posts.

Focus on quality

Along with the above point; you should always ensure that any posts that you make are of the highest quality possible. Your blog posts are a chance to impress your potential clients and to show them that you really do know what you are talking about.

If they think that you are an expert in your area, then they are much more likely to want to find out more about you and how you can help them.

It might seem like a lot of effort, setting up a blog and keeping it updated; but we can promise you that it is worth doing. It will help you to be seen online and also to make sure that you are recognised as being an expert in a very competitive industry.
