Top Marketing tips for law firms

Helen CoxMarketing isn’t always easy to grasp, especially if you are more focused on a specialist area such as law. However, the good news is that even if you are finding it tricky to know how best to market your firm; there are things that you can do to make things easier.  

In fact, to help you to get your marketing efforts for your law firm off the ground; I have put together some simple tips for ensuring that you can use marketing to be the successful firm that you want to be!  

Mix up your blogging and vlogging 

Blogs are a great way to market your law firm, share news and try to give your SEO a boost; but over the recent years it has been joined by another form of blogging, or should we say vlogging. 

As the name suggests, vlogging is a great way to share some topics with your audience. It not only boosts your SEO, but for many people it is an easy way to engage with you. Also, your customers get to see your face and this is something that will always instil feelings of trust with you, great when you are a law firm and have to deal with some rather sensitive issues on a day to day basis.  

Talk about things that you know about 

It can be tempting to try and be as broad as you can with your blog and vlog posts, but the truth is that you are an expert in a certain area; so make the most of that. You don’t want to always be talking about the same topics, but, if there is a particular area of law that you are a specialist in, then there is no harm posting about it on a regular basis. After all, this will help to cement that you are indeed an expert. 

Use social media 

Social media is a vitally important tool when it comes to marketing in the modern world. It can be confusing at first, but, over time it becomes super simple to use social media and you will soon be able to post with ease.  Make sure you use the right social media channel for the audience you are trying to connect with. It’s better to do one channel really well than multiple social media channels badly! So pick one and be persistent and consistent!

Always track your efforts 

It is great to think about making all this effort with your marketing, but, the last thing that you are going to want is to pay out for advertising and to take time to put together videos and blogs; only to find that they don’t work for you. 

The simple way of making sure that this doesn’t happen is to track your efforts as best that you can. There are a wealth of tools out there that are designed to help you keep an eye on what is working for you and these can push you in the right direction with what you need to do more of.  For instance, Google Analytics is a great way to track your website traffic.

There you have it, 4 of my best tips when it comes to marketing a law firm. The trick is to always take your time and think about what you want to put out there. Marketing isn’t always an exact science and sometimes you are going to find that the things you thought would work, need to be changed and tried again in the future.
