Take it easy whilst your blog does all the work

Running a business is hard and there are plenty of things to think about and do. Including writing a blog. Marketing yourself is a vital part of the process, especially if you want to be a success. But this isn’t always the easiest thing to do. Or one that you want to do if you are short on time.

What if we could tell you that there are ways that you can make marketing your business easier whilst still being effective. That helps make sure that you get noticed but that you don’t have to spend all of your time on it? Well blogging (yes the dreaded B word) is one of them. Here are my top tips for making sure that your blog does all the hard work for you.

Pick the right topic for your blog

The place to start when it comes to writing the perfect blog is finding the right topic. Keywords are important in order for the blog to be visible online. But the blog post still needs to be something that people are going to want to read. You need to pick a topic that is going to be interesting to your audience. It needs to present a problem (even better one that they are likely to have) and also a way that you can help them to fix it. Sometimes when I am looking for blog inspiration, I type the keywords into Google to see what topics people are searching on.

Add in some keywords

Once you have the topic and the main bulk of the blog post written. It is time to think about keywords. It is important that the keywords you choose fit in with the topic that you are going to write about. But also that they are going to be useful in online searches. You want the keywords to be terms that are most likely to be typed in when someone is looking for a product or service that you can offer.

Whilst you want there to be plenty of keywords within your text, you don’t want it to become saturated. This will take away from the quality of the blog post. You should aim for somewhere between the 1% and 3% mark of keyword density.

The next thing to think about are links, whether this be internal or external. The link that you build within your blog posts should be the highest quality possible. If they come from or lead to a poor website, one that isn’t well put together or seems to contain false information, your potential customers are going to be put off from using you.

Share away!

The last stage on making your blog work for you is to make sure that it is shared as much as possible. We have already discussed linking, which is one of the key parts to making sure that your blog gets noticed. However you are also going to want to make sure that you post it to your social media page, where you can not only share it yourself, but also encourage others to do the same.

Blogs are a key part of content marketing and they are never something that you should underestimate. Make sure that you do them right and we can promise you that they will work for you and make sure that your business gets noticed.
