Pinpointing your perfect customer

Pinpointing your perfect customer

There are some customers out there that are just perfect for your brand. Which is great, however, where do you find these people and how do you get their attention when you find them?

To help you find your perfect customer, make sure that you sell to them, here’s our guide to everything that you need to know.

How to identify a perfect customer

The first step in being able to sell to your perfect customer is finding out who they are (or what they look like). If you have been running your business for a while, then you may already have an idea of what your ideal customer may look like. If not, then here are some questions that you could ask yourself in order to identify them:

How old are they?

Are they married?

Do they have children?

What are their hobbies?

Things they are interested in?

What is it about your business that resonates with them?

Do they use email, telephone or text?

Of course, you may not know the answers to these questions, or be able to track your customers. So, in this case, you should think about who would most benefit and connect with your business and then use them as your target. Having a clear idea of who they are will help with a robust starting point for all your marketing activity including pricing, the products and services that you offer and what you want to say to them.

How to sell to your perfect customer

So, you know who your perfect customers are, or you have some idea on what they would look like, the time has come to try your best to sell to them. One of the best approaches to take when it comes to selling is to try and create an emotional connection with your customer. It is no secret that emotion sells, so, make sure that this is a part of your advertising efforts. It may seem hard to work emotion into your sales, however, sometimes all you need to do is show your customer how buying your product, or booking in your service, will allow them to tick something off of their to-do list and make their lives easier.

You can also make sure that you resonate more with your perfect customer than your competitors, something that is going to make sure that you are at the top of their list. Take a look at what they are doing and see if there are any ways that you can improve on it, you may find that you are their go to, simply by working on the message that you present to your customers.

Once you know more about how to best communicate with your key audience, you need to think about the ways that you can get your message across. What channel is going to work best? Social media? Arranging an event? Perhaps a newspaper or TV advert?

Think about their likes and interests, you may be surprised how well your chosen communication method can work and how many sales you get simply by targeting your perfect customer. Whether they are a current customer or not.
