Marketing Planning 2021 – Time to Flamin…..go

Helen Cox Marketing Consultant London Kent UK2020 hasn’t been the kindest of years. Whether you think about it from your own personal point of view or perhaps as a business owner. There have been ups and downs. In fact, probably more downs than anything else.

Many businesses have had to adapt to how they run, how they manage their staff and the service that they provide to their clients. They have also had to think about how they can survive in a post Covid-19 world when we will all have to be used to a brand new idea of what is normal.

It is even thought that some businesses are worried that they are not going to be able to stay open. Considering how much has happened over the past few months. This has meant that 2021 has now become even more important than ever before.

So, rather than sit around and wait for 2021 to roll around. Why not make it your year? It might not seem like it, but there has never been a better time to plan your marketing for the next 12 months.

What are the key marketing trends for 2021?

One great place to start is by finding out more about what the key marketing trends are for 2021. Of course, we don’t know all of the things that the next few months are going to bring. But we have some idea of what is going to be popular as well as what is likely to work.

Digital marketing

Digital marketing is a key trend for 2021. Of course, it isn’t anything that is new, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t work well. Your website is a key part of appealing to your customers. It shows them all of the relevant information for your business and will give them a place to go to when they want to get in touch with you.

Not only this but when you are visible online, then you are likely to find it a whole lot easier to ensure that you reach those who you want to reach. In fact, one of the best parts of it all is that your business is being promoted all day, every day. Whether you are awake and working on it, or not. It’s probably time that you review your digital marketing – what is and isn’t working and start planning how to take this forward into 2021.

Innovating

One key aspect of marketing is ensuring that your target audience knows exactly what your product or your service can do for them. This may be relatively easy to do and you may have already found some success in your current approaches. The thing to remember about marketing is that things will change. And it is always good to find new and improved ways to get your message across.

Innovation is the key to growth. And whilst most of the innovation that you see will relate to what you actually offer within your business. There are other ways that you can improve things for your customers.

Delivery times and processes may be changed to better serve your customers. You may streamline what you can offer your clients. Focusing on quality rather than quantity. You may even expand your range, adding brand new items that you never had before.

Of course, you can also invest in brand new marketing approaches. Trying out things that could really help you to grow your customer base and in turn, maximise your profits.  Dare I say the word PIVOT…

Build partnerships

One great way to build your business and improve your marketing efforts is to create partnerships with other businesses. You may be surprised by just how beneficial it can be to link up your product or your service with them.

By building this partnership you can ensure that you both have something additional to give your clients and customers. Not only this, but you will also be able to have the added benefit of your brand being cross-sold to a whole new audience that you may not have been able to reach before.

Why start now?

The next question is why does this all matter to me? Why, when things are already strained within my business should I be thinking about next year? Well, the answer to this is simple.

Sure, we don’t know what is going to happen in the future. However, one thing is for sure, if we don’t think about making a start and making a change now, then nothing will improve. Ultimately, it is down to us to do whatever we can and make sure that our businesses survive the impact of Covid-19. Which is why there is no better time to start thinking about what we can do than now.

Sure, things might change in the future, but if we plan and invest in our success right now, then there is a much greater chance that we will feel the benefit next year.
