Marketing Management for a Private School: Boosting Enrolment and Modernising Online Presence

I was brought on by a private school for a six-month period to cover a staff absence. Although I typically develop marketing plans for clients, I was intrigued by the opportunity to work on a retainer basis in a sector that was new to me.

Addressing Enrollment Challenges

In my initial meeting with the Headteacher and Bursar, it became clear that the school was struggling to recruit new students, particularly at the nursery and primary levels. With enrolment numbers needing a swift boost, I focused on strategies to attract prospective parents.

Refreshing the Website

One of the key issues identified was the school’s outdated and confusing website. Given the intense competition from other private schools in the area, my first priority was to collaborate with the design agency to update the website, making it more appealing and user-friendly for prospective parents.

Launching Targeted Campaigns

In addition to the website refresh, I was tasked with implementing a PPC campaign, Facebook advertising, and targeted nursery and outreach marketing initiatives. These efforts quickly paid off, with the school experiencing a 20% increase in inquiries soon after the campaigns launched.
