What Marketing do I do as a Marketing Consultant?

Hi everyone. And welcome to my video series. Today, I wanted to talk to you a little bit more about some of the marketing that I do running my own business as a marketing consultancy.

As you can imagine, I must practice what I preach! The pressure is on.

What kind of marketing did I do when I first started my business?

The first thing I did is I got my website up and running quickly, and I made sure that it was SEO optimised for all my keywords. And I made sure that I had a look on Google keyword planner to understand where I was and what I wanted to include and what page titles and page descriptions and what those words were that I wanted to insert on my website.

And I can safely say that has worked, and I am on the first page for Google, for the searches that I want. And that has taken a very, very long time for me to get there.

I’ve also made sure that I write blogs and I do that every week. And I have been doing that every week for the last four years. I don’t really let up; content is key, and I want to make sure that I have regular content across my website.

I’m also kind of interspersing it with videos like this.

I used to do more but I’ve reined it back a bit to one a month. Now it wasn’t doing as well as I thought it would do. Video views were low on social media and on YouTube and seems like more written content works better. So, I still want to do videos so people can see me and understand how I approach work and that they can see what I am like personally.  But at the same time, it’s not always working as well as I’d like it to.

I also do email newsletters. So they go out once a month religiously and I do a lot of networking and one to ones as well. And that as a combination really works quite well for me. But I think it’s very important for you guys to have a think about what my baseline marketing activity is.

And I think there’s a couple of things there.

Oh, I forgot to mention social media, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter as well. I’m quite active on. Sometimes it does feel like you’re screaming into the abyss and nothing’s happening, but people do notice it’s subtle. So, it’s very important to keep those channels going aswell.

Anyway, I hope you found that video interesting. If you have, please do like and subscribe and I’ll see you next time.
